Services, Training, and Research for Independence and Desired Employment
A work-based learning program at MSU that is specifically designed for students with an IEP and higher support needs. This 7-week program is available for students aged 16 to 26 and includes 6 weeks of paid employment. Throughout the 7 weeks, students attend a morning career institute where they learn essential workplace-readiness and self-advocacy skills. After the morning sessions, they gain practical experience through paid work opportunities.
BOSS is a work-based learning opportunity that matches MSU students with disabilities to campus jobs that align with employment goals.
An individualized training program to improve skills in navigating the community via public transportation and to increase safety and independence.
Providing training and consultation for employers and employees to foster disability-friendly, welcoming, and inclusive work environments.
A four-week summer work-based learning course for current high school students. The topics covered include professionalism, effective communication and listening skills, resume writing, interviewing techniques, disability disclosure, workplace relationships, and coping strategies.
