Advocacy and Education on Health Rights

Disability Rights Michigan helps people with disabilities get the medical care they need. They work to protect their rights and support them in solving issues related to healthcare.

MDRC is committed to making healthcare available to everyone, especially people with disabilities. They offer helpful information and resources about health and wellness programs, encouraging individuals to speak up for themselves and to be included in all aspects of life.

Medical and Healthcare Services

CSHCS offers special medical care and support for children and some adults who have ongoing health issues or disabilities. They help cover medical costs, coordinate care, and connect patients with the right specialists.

Easterseals provides mental health support and therapy programs to help individuals with disabilities and their families. They focus on overall wellness and offer early intervention services and resources for behavioral health. They aim to support everyone in living their best lives.

MDHHS provides Medicaid programs that give complete healthcare support for people with disabilities. This includes special programs like the MI Choice Waiver, which helps individuals receive care and services in their homes and communities.

Mental Health

Common Ground provides help around the clock with a crisis hotline, mental health counseling, and support programs for people in difficult situations. This includes assistance for individuals with disabilities who need immediate support and ongoing help.

CMHSPs provide comprehensive mental health services, including therapy, case management, crisis intervention, and psychiatric care for individuals with disabilities and mental health needs.

Pine Rest offers mental health services for people in their facilities and from the comfort of their homes. They provide help for individuals with disabilities who may need counseling, medication, or support from mental health professionals.

Nutrition

MDHHS offers food benefits through SNAP and nutrition assistance programs to families, including those with disabilities, to improve access to healthy meals.

MSU Extension provides workshops and resources on healthy eating, meal planning, and cooking for individuals with disabilities and their families.
