Advocacy and Support Organizations

AAoM helps people with autism find jobs by providing support like job coaching, career advice, and training on connecting with coworkers.

The Arc Michigan works to ensure that people with intellectual and developmental disabilities have access to meaningful job opportunities. They provide support and resources to help individuals gain job skills and make necessary adjustments in the workplace so that everyone can succeed.

Disability Network centers provide employment training, job readiness support, and independent living skills for individuals with disabilities.

MAF assists families in transitioning young adults with disabilities into the workforce by connecting them with job resources, vocational training, and post-secondary education programs. It offers guidance and tools to help these individuals succeed in their careers.

UCP Michigan provides support and resources for people with cerebral palsy and other disabilities. They help individuals plan their careers, find job opportunities, and advocate for their rights, all to enable them to work independently.

State Agencies

BSBP offers career counseling, job readiness training, and assistive technology for individuals who are blind or visually impaired. They provide skills and resources for navigating the workforce with confidence and independence.

CMHSPs across Michigan provide vocational support services, including job coaching, skills training, and supported employment, for individuals with mental health conditions and developmental disabilities.

MDE-OSE provides support and tools to help students with disabilities get ready for life after high school, whether that means going to college or joining the workforce.

MRS offers personalized support to help people with disabilities find and keep jobs. They provide career advice, training to prepare for work, and help with job placements. MRS aims to empower individuals, giving them the tools they need to succeed in the workforce.

Vocational Development Programs

Peckham provides job training, skills development, and job opportunities in different fields like manufacturing and information technology for people with disabilities.

Project SEARCH helps young adults with disabilities gain experience and skills through internships and hands-on job training at local businesses. This program aims to equip them for successful careers in the workforce.

MCTI offers practical job training and certification in areas such as information technology, healthcare, and cooking. They also provide students with housing and help find jobs, especially for individuals with disabilities.

Michigan Works! provides vocational training, resume building, and job search support, helping individuals with disabilities find meaningful employment. Many centers work in partnership with MRS.
