Spartan Works is an 8-week summer work-based learning program designed for high school students aged 15 to 21 who are on a certificate track and live in the MRS Clinton, Eaton, Ingham, and Shiawasee Service Areas. This program emphasizes hands-on experiences and includes a dedicated soft skills class to help participants develop the foundational skills needed for success in the workforce.
Through partnerships with Ingham area Michigan Rehabilitation Services (MRS), the Bureau of Services for Blind Persons (BSBP), MSU Athletics, Residence Education and Housing Services, and Culinary Services, Spartan Works provides real-world exposure to a variety of career paths. Participants gain valuable work experience at actual jobs on the MSU campus, ranging from office skills and nutrition to sustainable farming and sports management.
